One of those moments where it felt like it was time to share a picture of a steam locomotive. Take a moment, pause and reflect: isn't this why we are here? (Engine is located on the grounds of the Grand Canyon Hotel, Williams, Arizona.)

The line passes thoruough Cabin Flats Tank, then crosses FR191C. This is where I picked up the grade. According to old maps, the spur circled about, ending up near Kendrick Spring.

There is an earthen fill ramp from the road.

Looking across the road, from the fence. The spur inevitably crossed the road at this point, however, it would appear that the grade has eroded over the last century, making it difficult to find. Maybe an adventure for another day. Besides, the fence had barbed wire and I really didn't want to damage my hide.
A short hike, but finding and following spurs in the woods is never a wasted effort, right?

I spotted an unusual feature alongside FR191C.
Being of a curious nature, I had to check this out.

What appears to be a bird like statue. Upon further investigation,
it was a piece of wood placed above the site.

A small alter or fire pit. My conclusion is that this whole area is of recent construction, built as a memorial or an offering. You find these things in the woods; out of respect, leave them as they are.
Disturbing a native culture site, even of recent vintage, can result in hefty fines.
