LATEST FINDS AND COMMENTARIES  In 1923, The Saginaw and Manistee Lumber Company established A Safety Committee for the company, including the mill operations and logging camps. The committee was comprised of representatives from management and employees from a diverse group of ethnic backgrounds, and various crafts.  One of the benefits of this committee was the monthly publication of a newsletter, that was distributed to all of the employees and prominently displayed at the various worksites. This publication was entitled "The Lumberjack," published by the Safety and Welfare Committee of the Saginaw and Manistee Lumber Company, Williams, Arizona. Very few of these publications now exist, with only one existing in bit and pieces, having been photocopied. This newsletter continued for some time, possibly to the end of operations in 1941.
